Hopefully I can fit the rest into this blog.
But hey, if not, that'll mean I have all my blogs in for this month!
But I think I'll be able to.

Anyway, where were we? Leaving the drive-in?
Alright, here we go! (...I seriously hope nothing we did was illegal.)

Before we even left for the drive-in, we agreed to go to Wal-mart afterwards to get our (grand)mothers some lovely Mother's Day gifts.
Well, I forgot to bring extra money with me. So I only had three dollars left over from the drive-in.
We walked into Wal-mart, and I immediately noticed I wasn't going to be able to get much for my three dollars. Couldn't buy flowers, couldn't buy cokes, couldn't buy pillows, couldn't buy wash rags, couldn't buy magazines or chips or balloons, couldn't buy anything except for a card, which was $2 + tax.
So we get in the self-checkout line to buy our stuff (after having to help Kelsey pick out the PERFECT bouquet of flowers, white carnations and all), and there's this old man in front of us. Kelsey had a nice little chat with him about self-checkouts. And me and Alyssa had a nice little chat about the lady on the self-checkout screen.
Then, while we were checking out, we were thinking about what to do to get my mom a Mother's Day gift. A simple card would not suffice. I got that for her every year. Even just a flower would be okay.
A few suggestions were thrown out, and then it hit me. The perfect gift for my mom.

From here our night gets preeeetty crazy. (well, maybe not that crazy to you, but to me it's crazy)

After leaving Wal-mart, our next destination was the airport.
Hmm. What could three teenagers possibly need there, I wonder?
Well, I remembered my mom passing by the airport with me a couple of weeks ago, and she WOULD NOT stop talking about how beautiful these purple flowers were. Even when we got home, she started talking about them to my dad. She even wanted him to drive by with her so she could show them to him. She REALLY liked those flowers.
I knew they grew by the airport, but I didn't know exactly where, so I told Kelsey to drive us over there.
Turns out, they grew in someone's yard.
I didn't want to steal anyone's flowers, so I told her to keep driving. My mom just wouldn't have her perfect purple flowers for Mother's Day...

While we were driving back, we passed McDonalds, which has TWO rose bushes out front (I never knew!)
So, Kelsey circled back around the block and parked in McDonald's parking lot. I was too chicken to go in front of it where the windows were, so I just went to a tree by the parking lot and tried to tear off a branch that had white flowers growing on it.
Man, branches are sturdy.
I gave up after what seemed like forever (but was prolly only a few seconds.) I was paranoid an employee would come out and get onto me. And why shouldn't they? I was practically trying to tear their tree down!
So we tried again to get the red roses in front, but this time Kelsey parked in Advanced Auto Parts. Well, they had bushes blocking the way to McDonald's, plus there were these guys standing by their truck, and I didn't really wanna go steal flowers while there were witnesses.
We just left, and decided to drive around neighborhoods, looking for little flower bushes people usually plant on corners by stop signs.
We figured no one would really suspect anything, because we would just be stopping, which is typical behavior... 'cause we're at a stop sign.

So yeah, we drove around my neighborhood for a while looking for suitable flowers to pick, but none were planted by stop signs.
Alyssa suggested we go to Griffith, cuz there's lots of rich people there who like planting flowers everywhere.
But when we got there, it took FOREVER to find flowers by a stop sign. There were some pretty PURPLE flowers on the corner by this stoplight, but lots of cars were always there, so we kept circling around until there weren't any. And even then, I kept chickening out.
Well, after going through a few other rich neighborhoods (and getting lost in one), we finally came across a stop sign near where my sister lives. It was surrounded by pink rose bushes, and there were so many. It was perfect!
It took a while for Kelsey to circle around it so that mine and Alyssa's side of the car was facing the bush (she was too chicken to just reach out her window and grab a couple of flowers.) But when she did, both Alyssa and I rolled down our windows and grabbed some roses.
I grabbed two wimpy ones with most of the petals off, but Alyssa grabbed a whole branch off the bush (and got pricked by the thorns) and gave it to me. :)

After that, we were thankful to be on our way home. It was almost midnight, and we probably looked suspicious, circling around Griffith 34958032985345 times.
We dropped Alyssa off, and I walked into my house exactly as the clock turned to 12:00 A.M.
It was officially Mother's Day.

When my mom went to bed (like, 1 in the morning... geez), I woke up Stephanie. She signed the card, but as I was explaining to her how I happened upon the flowers, she told me to shut up so she could go to sleep.
So, I went into the kitchen and sat the card and flowers down on the counter. Then I went to bed for the night.

And after I woke up, I recounted all of this to my mom, and she just laughed and thanked me for the card.
I think I'm going to remember this Mother's Day for a while to come. :)

Yeah... All that work, for THOSE. They looked prettier yesterday, I promise.
That's the $2 card, by the way.

P. S. We're not crooks! Just wanted to make that clear.
P.S.S. Wow. This is long.
