It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it’s only a passing thing. The shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those are the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding onto something.

The whole time Sam was talking, I was thinking "This quote (however lengthy) is totally going on my blog."
...and here it is!
Apparently Stephanie was thinking the same, because whenever I rewound the movie to that scene, she started typing with me. Haha.

Anyway, I loved Sam's little monologue... :')
People can only tolerate so much, and sometimes you think there never will be the light at the end of the tunnel... but it's nice to have something to hold onto, to get you through the bad times.

P.S.: Ugh. ALEXUS! I just found chocolate icing on my keyboard!!!!

I don't know why, but this lengthy quote made me think of another quote!
"The heart may be weak, and sometimes it may even give in. But I've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out!"
